ae-hw-bridge and HW Puppet: an ESP32-S3 test harness that agents drive over MCP

ae-hw-bridge connects AI agents over MCP to a target board through HW Puppet, MicroPython firmware for an ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1. Over one USB cable, HW Puppet drives the target's reset, boot and power lines and bridges its UART console. A mirrored terminal shows a person the same log the agent reads. Neither README shows a recorded run.

Briefing

HW Puppet runs MicroPython 1.29.0 with a custom TinyUSB stack that exposes two CDC ports: CDC 0 is a raw REPL and CDC 1 a UART bridge at up to 921600 baud. Relays switch the target's reset, recovery or boot and power lines and keep it isolated from the harness. The README says a streaming matcher on the ESP32-S3 can answer a bootloader prompt within microseconds. On the host, the daemon mirrors the UART to /tmp/ae-hw-bridge-uart for tio or picocom.

Target modules add prefixed tools such as jetson_full_reboot, and the examples cover Jetson and STM32 boards. Prebuilt firmware is released.
