GoFly has an agent design, order and test an STM32F405 flight controller

GoFly says an AI agent designed a six-layer STM32F405 flight controller in EasyEDA Pro through easyeda-agent, then ordered it from JLCPCB with SMT assembly. The post says the agent then flashed the board over USB and ran basic function tests. The design keeps only the MCU, gyroscope and accelerometer, and testing stayed on the desk.

Christian Schaller uses Claude Code to reverse engineer a film scanner and a laptop camera

Christian Schaller had Claude Code write a SANE backend for a Plustek OpticFilm 8200i scanner from USB captures of its Windows driver in a VM. He then reused the method to fix the kernel driver and libcamera for the IMX471 camera in his ThinkPad X1 Carbon. The post shows scans and before-and-after camera frames.

JLCPCB tests Claude Code on a real board layout in EasyEDA Pro

A JLCPCB blog author had Claude Code with Opus 5.5 rebuild a CH32V006 component tester in EasyEDA Pro from a PDF schematic. Working through a local API bridge, Claude swapped 8 out-of-stock parts, placed 47 parts and routed the 2-layer board with Freerouting to zero DRC errors. The post says the board was not fabricated or visually reviewed.

An AI agent on a Nokia 110 4G, built by reverse engineering its firmware with Codex

Anup Ray reverse-engineered a Nokia 110 4G's firmware with OpenAI Codex and rewrote its Calculator app as an agent chat app. It sends messages to DeepSeek over the phone's SIM data and can check the battery, toggle the torch, place calls and set alarms. It loads into RAM from a computer, so a restart removes it.

ETH Zurich project has a language model set rehab robot parameters over MCP

Celal Türkmen's ETH Zurich semester project has a language model convert a therapist's plain-language request into an MCP tool call for a rehabilitation robot. A validator built from each device's YAML file of parameters, units and bounds decides whether the call reaches the hardware. The README reports runs on a Novint Falcon haptic device under ROS 2 Jazzy.

openTPU: AI agents build an LLM accelerator that runs on a Kintex-7 FPGA card

Felipe Sens Bonetto used AI agents to write openTPU, an LLM inference accelerator with its own instruction set, simulator, compiler and host software. On an Inspur PCIe card with a Xilinx Kintex-7 and 2 DDR3 channels it runs 10 models, including Qwen3 and Gemma 4, with their real weights. A README GIF shows the chat demo running on the card.

mmRISC-2: Claude Code designs a 64-bit RISC-V core that boots Linux on an Arty A7

Munetomo Maruyama had Claude Code design mmRISC-2, a 64-bit RV64GC RISC-V core, and brought it up on a Digilent Arty A7-100T. Claude wrote the specification, SystemVerilog RTL, testbenches and documents; Maruyama ran Vivado and the board. Bring-up logs in the repository record Linux 7.2 booting to a shell at 50 MHz and a 120-minute stress test passing.

Claude Fable 5 designs an RP2350 e-ink board through a KiCad MCP server

A Reddit user had Claude Fable 5 design an RP2350 e-ink board through a KiCad MCP server, allowing no manual edits. Wccftech reports several rounds to fix wrong part picks. Five assembled boards cost 130 euros plus $450 in API credits, and Claude Opus 5 wrote the firmware. Photos show the board driving its 1.54-inch display.

ws-pico2go: an agent-first MicroPython workspace for the Waveshare Pico2Go robot

ws-pico2go sets up Claude Code to program the RP2350-based Waveshare Pico2Go robot in MicroPython, entirely from the terminal. Waveshare publishes no pinout, so the author recovered one from a schematic PDF and keeps it in CLAUDE.md with safety rules and measured sensor behavior. The README says an obstacle avoider runs untethered. We have not seen video.

Session Beacon: a USB status light for parallel Claude Code sessions

Session Beacon shows every Claude Code session on a 1.8-inch ST7735 screen and turns a row red when that session waits on a prompt. A Python daemon fed by Claude Code hooks sends updates over USB serial to an Arduino Nano ESP32 or a Waveshare RP2040-Zero. Setup is documented for Windows only. README photos show the finished beacon.

    Tide & Wind Tracker: byte-exact hardware-in-the-loop tests for e-paper

Tide & Wind Tracker shows tides and wind on an M5Stack PaperColor and tests its e-paper rendering on the ESP32-S3 itself. Test firmware renders fixtures sent over USB and returns the canvas bytes for comparison with golden images. Claude Code iterated against those tests while a person approved every change. The README has a photo of it running.

Claude Code identifies three unlabeled ESP32 boards and writes firmware for each

Creator Magic plugged three unlabeled ESP32 boards into a Mac one at a time and had Claude Code identify each over USB. Claude then wrote different firmware for each: a sea-conditions display, a Bluetooth audio spectrum analyzer and an e-paper sound picture. The 23-minute video shows all three running and a display offset Claude diagnosed from a photo.

Claude Code ports a BBC Micro emulator to the Adafruit Fruit Jam

Andrew de Quincey had Claude Code port the Frank Micro BBC Micro emulator to the RP2350-based Adafruit Fruit Jam. Claude studied the codebase, planned around clock and PIO conflicts and wrote a script for the audio codec registers. Photos show the emulator booted over HDMI. It ran Exile, and an odd Mac keyboard was the only snag.

Iluvatar Labs' research agent routes AgentPad13, a $35 Codex Micro clone

Iluvatar Labs had its research agent, Marvin, route AgentPad13, a two-layer RP2040 macropad modeled on OpenAI's Codex Micro. Marvin reached zero unrouted connections and zero DRC errors; FreeRouting and Quilter had left 18 and 19 unrouted. It also built and simulated the QMK firmware. Photos show the lit prototype.
