AURIX AI Agent: Copilot builds and flashes Infineon AURIX firmware over MCP

AURIX AI Agent connects GitHub Copilot's agent mode in VS Code to Infineon AURIX iLLD drivers, code examples and documentation through MCP. Copilot then builds with GCC and flashes the board with AURIX Flasher. The author's linked videos show a one-sentence prompt blinking every LED on a TC387 and a pose-detection game on a TC375. The extension is Windows-only.

Briefing

Setup runs through the VS Code extension. The user picks the target device and points it at an installed AURIX Development Studio or Configuration Studio. The extension writes .github/copilot-instructions.md, copies skills into the project and registers the MCP server. Its tools create an iLLD project with a Makefile and linker script, build with GCC, flash .elf or .hex files over USB and search bundled TC2xx, TC3xx and TC4Dx documentation with PDF page citations.

Four skills ship with it, including one for porting NXP, ST, Renesas or TI demos to AURIX. The extension bundles uv and downloads its own Python runtime on first use. In the pose-game Short, a PC runs pose detection on its webcam and sends the results over Ethernet to the TC375, which drives an SPI TFT.
