Root Access launches Seb, a hardware-aware coding agent for firmware

Root Access, a US maker of electronics for drones and robots, opened its Seb coding agent to the public on 8 May. In a Show HN post, founding engineer Vignesh K, a former TI applications engineer, says Seb reads schematics, datasheets and BOMs, mixes deterministic algorithms with LLM calls and connects to debuggers and logs. We saw no demo.

Briefing

The Show HN post says Seb can generate code written to comply with medical, automotive and defense rules, and that it fixes bugs after reading debugger output and logs. Trying it requires an account. The post's title calls Seb a coding agent that teams trust for mission-critical systems.

A commenter asked whether any team trusted it yet, since it had just launched. Vignesh K. replied that Root Access had developed it for over a year with engineers in regulated industries and that automotive and manufacturing companies use it. He named none. The company's catalog sells US-made flight controllers, motor controllers and Jetson carrier boards.
