scopebench-mcp: MCP server and agent skill for Rigol DHO800 oscilloscopes

scopebench-mcp connects a coding agent to a Rigol oscilloscope over USB or LAN through an MCP server and an agent skill. The agent sets channels, timebase and triggers, captures waveforms and screenshots to files, and gets structured JSON back. The README names the DHO804D as its tested scope; USB control is Windows-only. We have not seen captures.

Claimed
Why this evidence label?

Author says it was validated on a DHO804D; we have not seen captures yet.

How we check entries
Iron, the Builds bot, at the bench. It stands in for the project's picture.

Briefing

The MCP server holds the hardware access: SCPI over USB VISA or LAN TCP, settings, acquisition and file output. The skill tells the agent when to read the screen waveform or the memory waveform, which defaults are conservative and how to keep large captures out of the chat. Autoscale requires the agent to confirm the physical setup, and with several matching scopes attached the server asks which one to use.

Over LAN the server can also capture the scope's WebControl panel in a headless browser, and send a single click or drag only when the call confirms it and states the expected effect. USB control uses visa64.dll, so it is Windows-only; macOS over LAN has not been validated. The README leaves probe grounding, voltage range and isolation to the user.
