vibe-hardware: agent skills from idea to firmware, PCB and enclosure

vibe-hardware installs skills into Claude Code or Codex that take an idea to ESP32 firmware, a KiCad board, a build123d enclosure and a JLCPCB order. Its example is a desk pager on an M5StickC S3 that buzzes when a Claude Code session needs input. The README says the firmware works; the PCB and shell are still stubs.

Briefing

The repo now holds 7 skills. vibe-pcb writes KiCad files by script rather than through the GUI and gates them on DRC, and vibe-cad checks the enclosure against the board for interference. A shared manifest kept by vibe-plm holds the board outline, stack height, mount holes and connector exits, so firmware, board and shell stay in step. Results are reviewed in a browser viewer instead of the EDA or CAD program.

A second example, a three-key macropad with an I2S microphone on an ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, has the opposite status to the pager: its board is finished and autorouted to zero DRC errors, while its firmware and shell are stubs. The viewers depend on the separate text-to-cad skills, which vibe-hardware builds on.
