ESP-Mosaico: an ESP32-S31 modular devkit built for coding agents

CNX Software reported on 21 October that Espressif sells ESP-Mosaico, a modular ESP32-S31 kit with a square touchscreen, for $59 on its own store. Espressif's Vibe Coding guide has a coding agent such as Codex build apps from the esp-mosaico-vibe workspace and install them over USB. An on-board agent, ESP-Claw, answers chat requests.

Briefing

The kit pairs an ESP32-S31 core board, with 16 MB of PSRAM, a 2.16-inch 480 x 480 touchscreen, an IMU and two magnetometers, with a base board, a camera module and an interaction module. CNX says it was sold earlier on Taobao and AliExpress at higher prices.

The esp-mosaico-vibe repo holds agent instructions for Codex, Claude Code and Cursor, a CLI that installs apps on the device, and a simulator for checking the UI before flashing. CNX names ESP-ZeroCode AI as the Vibe Coding tool; Espressif's guide names the repo instead. We saw no agent session on a board in either.
