Agent-built Zephyr firmware and host tools for the Waveshare RP2350 relay board

rp2350-relay-6ch drives the six relays of a Waveshare RP2350-Relay-6CH board from Zephyr firmware, with a custom MCUmgr management group over USB CDC. Host tools include a Python RPC library, a CLI and a Linux daemon for test rigs. The author describes it as a first agentic coding project; the README has product photos only.

Briefing

Host commands travel over USB CDC as SMP frames with CBOR payloads. The firmware turns every relay off on boot, reset, restart and test teardown, validates each command and limits pulses. On Linux, one rp2350-relayd daemon owns each controller and serves a local Unix socket, so scripts and the rp2350-relayctl client go through the daemon instead of opening the serial port themselves.

An optional 128x64 OLED shows which channels the firmware commanded on; the README notes that it does not prove contact closure or current flow. Host tests use simulated transports. One build script produces the Python wheel and the UF2 images for the Waveshare and Pico 2 targets. Firmware update support is planned but not implemented.
