CMSIS Skills: Open-CMSIS-Pack publishes agent skills for MCU bring-up and debug

CMSIS Skills, a repository under the Open-CMSIS-Pack project, collects agent skills for building and bringing up microcontroller projects with CMSIS tools. Skills find board support packs, resolve Zephyr board targets, detect debug topology with pyOCD and record a board's debug and trace routing. Each skill names the extra probe or vendor tool it needs. The README shows no hardware runs.

Briefing

Each skill does one small step, and its verified output feeds the next. The README's trace example chains four: get a working debug connection, configure trace in the project metadata, confirm trace data arrives, then write the configuration into a Device Family Pack. Bring-up skills save their findings as review records under .agent-artifacts/, and pack skills read those records to propose debug and trace sequences for the pack description file.

The skills assume the CMSIS stack: CMSIS-Toolbox, the CMSIS Solution and CMSIS Debugger extensions for VS Code, and Open-CMSIS-Pack formats. Zephyr is covered only where a task uses CMSIS tooling. As of October 2026 the collection also holds an Ethos-U model evaluation skill and a GitHub Actions generator that can add tests on Arm's Fixed Virtual Platform simulators.
