JLCPCB documents GPT-6 Astra designing a TPA3116D2 amplifier board in KiCad

JLCPCB's blog documents GPT-6 Astra designing a 44 x 34 mm two-layer TPA3116D2 stereo amplifier board in KiCad 10. Starting from datasheets and a brief, it ended with zero ERC, DRC and parity errors, with some check categories disabled. The page says the routed layout was reused from an earlier task. The board was never fabricated.

Briefing

The brief asked for a 12 V single supply, stereo input, two 4-ohm outputs and SMD parts only, in KiCad 10.0.4. The final checks found 0 unconnected items, and 120 pin-to-pad pairs were checked independently. DRC ignored five categories and ERC four.

The FAQ says the routed layout came from an earlier task, while the workflow section describes Astra running Freerouting; the page does not reconcile the two. A heatsink is required but was not modeled. The page says OpenAI announced no KiCad plugin or partnership and that Astra worked through computer use. The post was published on 14 September and updated on 28 September.
