Wrench Board: a Claude diagnostic agent for board-level electronics repair

Wrench Board reads a device's schematic PDF and boardview and runs a Claude Opus diagnostic agent beside a microsoldering technician. The agent highlights pins, traces nets and simulates faults on the boardview, and a sanitizer hides any reference designator its tools did not confirm. The README says it placed second at Anthropic's Opus 4.7 hackathon in April.

Briefing

The author, a microsoldering technician for three years, used to send Claude screenshots one at a time. Wrench Board builds a per-device repair pack in about two minutes with four Claude personas, and Opus vision compiles schematic pages into a queryable electrical graph. A managed agent with layered memory works through 44 custom tools, 17 of them for the boardview, and can request frames from a USB microscope.

The demo video shows the workbench on an MNT Reform motherboard boardview, not a repair on the bench. The license is source-available, not open source.
