Flamingo: prompt-first PCB CAD that Claude Code drives over MCP

Flamingo is a TypeScript PCB engine that Claude Code drives over MCP, from a plain-language prompt to a JLCPCB fab package with no schematic step. Its 34 tools pick LCSC parts, place footprints, connect nets, autoroute with Freerouting and run DRC. The README shows browser-editor screenshots and an end-to-end ESP32 test script, but no fabricated board.

Briefing

A local server holds the board, serves the browser view and exposes every editing operation as an MCP tool, and Claude Code and the browser edit the same board. DRC checks JLCPCB's rules for the board's layer count and live JLC assembly stock; an out-of-stock part blocks export unless waived. Output is Gerber X2, Excellon drills, JLCPCB BOM and CPL files and a STEP model. Boards are plain JSON files with undo and redo.

It needs Node.js 22, a Java runtime for Freerouting and network access on first use to fetch EasyEDA footprints. The README says e2e-esp32.ts builds a reference ESP32 board with live LCSC parts and Freerouting, asserts a DRC-clean export and validates every Gerber with tracespace.
