Nordic MCP adds PPK2 power profiling and J-Link debugging skills for AI assistants

In September Nordic Semiconductor added skills to its Nordic MCP server that drive a Power Profiler Kit II and SEGGER J-Link probes. The PPK2 skill captures long measurement runs and flags anomalies against a reference pattern; the debug skill runs GDB sessions. The nRF Connect extension for VS Code now shares build context. The post shows no runs.

Briefing

The planner resource helps the model split a task into smaller steps. Nordic says this finishes tasks faster, with fewer tokens, and gives no numbers. The extension now hands the assistant the current applications, builds, configurations and connected devices, so it does not have to search the file system or read build logs. Nordic MCP answers from official documentation first and uses other sources only when the documentation has nothing relevant.

Nordic lists triage, performance data from the board and checking fixes as uses for the debug skill. The post, by Sebastian Viviani, names no AI assistant and does not say how to install the skills.
