claude-code-eyes: a camera skill so Claude Code can check real hardware

claude-code-eyes grabs one frame from an Android IP Webcam, a Raspberry Pi camera or any snapshot URL and hands it to Claude Code. Version 1.1 added lens zoom for reading small markings. The README's demo shows Claude flashing an ESP32 over OTA and fixing a display bug its tests missed.

Briefing

The skill is a SKILL.md and a shell script. The script fetches a frame from the configured camera, checks its magic bytes to confirm it is an image, and saves it where Claude Code can read it. With an IP Webcam, the agent can zoom up to 10x, and the script restores the previous zoom afterwards.

The author, a quadriplegic developer new to electronics, had Claude Code design an ESP32, relay and API setup, write the firmware and a Go relay, and push five OTA updates. Every automated test passed, yet a 48-pixel clock font dropped characters on the panel; Claude caught it by looking through the camera. The author writes that his own eyes caught a separate layout bug Claude had marked as passing. A local USB webcam backend is described but untested.

“found and fixed a UI bug on the display that every green test missed”
