Commander: MCP control for an EZ-Robot JD humanoid with safety tiers

Commander replaces Synthiam ARC with local control software for the EZ-Robot JD humanoid, with no vendor account or cloud. An agent in any MCP client gets 15 bounded tools, with server-side guardrails, to walk the robot, look through its camera and speak. The README says this was verified on the robot; it shows no photos or video.

Briefing

Commander talks to the JD's EZ-B board with a stdlib-only TCP client for its binary protocol. The factory library of 39 motions, exported from ARC to JSON, carries risk tiers (gesture, locomotion, floor), abort policies and battery floors. The camera stream feeds object detection and an optional local vision model, voice runs locally through Piper and Whisper, and a Svelte web GUI covers servos, teleop and a 3D twin.

Each agent gets a named bearer identity. Nothing moves on startup, and motion needs a human present, which the GUI asserts while its tab is open. The board accepts one client on port 23, so ARC must be closed first. The tests use a fake transport, and a simulator runs the full stack without a robot.
