Claude Code checks a SPICE simulation against a LeCroy scope on a real circuit

Lucas Gerads connected Claude Code to his LeCroy oscilloscope through lecroy-mcp and to ngspice through spicelib-mcp. In the post's 12-minute video, Claude simulates an RC low-pass filter, programs an ATtiny1614 to drive it and compares the scope traces with the simulation. Gerads warns that Claude cannot see the bench and needs an explicit pinout.

Session Beacon: a USB status light for parallel Claude Code sessions

Session Beacon shows every Claude Code session on a 1.8-inch ST7735 screen and turns a row red when that session waits on a prompt. A Python daemon fed by Claude Code hooks sends updates over USB serial to an Arduino Nano ESP32 or a Waveshare RP2040-Zero. Setup is documented for Windows only. README photos show the finished beacon.

Claude Code identifies three unlabeled ESP32 boards and writes firmware for each

Creator Magic plugged three unlabeled ESP32 boards into a Mac one at a time and had Claude Code identify each over USB. Claude then wrote different firmware for each: a sea-conditions display, a Bluetooth audio spectrum analyzer and an e-paper sound picture. The 23-minute video shows all three running and a display offset Claude diagnosed from a photo.

Jacob Beningo on MCP bench tools, power cycling and datasheet retrieval

In a Design News article, Jacob Beningo describes three tricks for using AI agents in embedded development. He recommends putting debuggers and logic analyzers behind MCP servers and grounding driver code in datasheets through retrieval. He power-cycles boards with uhubctl, a Yepkit YKUSH hub or two BK Precision 1685B supplies. The article reports no measured results.

Tulip Tree Technology: an emulated STM32 for an AI agent to test firmware on

Tulip Tree Technology has an AI coding agent write a hello-world for an STM32F030 and run it on Emerson, the company's own hardware emulator. The 8-minute video uses emctl to check that the firmware ran correctly, not just that it compiled. It also covers what Emerson models and what it leaves out. No physical board appears.

Veecle surveys chip vendors' MCP servers: docs, builds and debug, but no virtual target

Daniel Frassinelli of Veecle reviewed first-party hardware MCP servers and found that seven chip and tooling vendors shipped them between October 2025 and August 2026. He found no official server from ST, Infineon or Renesas. He writes that none of the vendor servers runs firmware without a physical board; Veecle's own product, Chiplab, targets that gap.

Tiny2040 voice player built with Copilot and Antigravity, no hand-written code

The author of a dev.to post built a MicroPython voice-announcement player on a Pimoroni Tiny2040 with a MAX98357A amplifier without editing code by hand. GitHub Copilot wrote it until it looped on out-of-memory errors, and Google Antigravity fixed the storage problem. The post says the agent reported all tests passing while a playback-speed change had no effect.

Espressif's four-hour workshop on coding ESP-IDF firmware with an AI agent

Espressif published a four-hour workshop on using AI coding agents in Cursor or VS Code for ESP-IDF v6.0.2 work on an ESP32-C5-DevKitC. Six assignments cover agent setup with the Espressif documentation MCP server, spec-driven prompts, token use and debugging. An optional exercise decodes LED frames from a Saleae Logic 2 capture. We found no captures or photos.

FWAuto demo: one prompt to a verified gesture model on an STM32F4 Discovery

FWAuto's 3.6-minute video runs its own firmware agent through an STM32 edge-AI job on an STM32F4DISCOVERY board. The agent checks the toolchain, integrates an existing NanoEdge AI library, and builds and flashes over ST-LINK. From 02:52 it verifies gestures on the board and writes an evidence report. Model training is outside the demo's scope.

code-chan: coding-agent status and permission prompts on an M5Stack CoreS3

code-chan runs on a Stack-chan robot with an M5Stack CoreS3 and shows whether Claude Code or Codex is ready, working or waiting for permission. The user approves or rejects a prompt on its touchscreen. A local Node.js bridge sends hook events over USB serial, and the firmware checks each message before acting. README photos show three states.

Programming the Fri3d Camp 2024 badge with Claude Code

David Steeman used Claude Code to reverse-engineer and program the Fri3d Camp 2024 badge, an ESP32-S3 handheld with an LCD. Claude backed up the flash in ROM mode, worked out the OTA boot scheme and wrote a serial upload tool. Steeman says the app launcher and name badge it built ran on the device. The photos show only the hardware.

Claude Code guides for building RepRapFirmware and an ESP32 NFC filament sensor

RRF_Claude collects plain-English guides for non-programmers doing hardware work with Claude Code. One compiles RepRapFirmware for Duet3D printer boards on Windows or macOS and adds features to it. Another wires two PN5180 NFC readers to an ESP32 while the agent writes firmware for Bambu Lab and OpenPrintTag spool tags. The repo shows no photos or build results.

Root Access launches Seb, a hardware-aware coding agent for firmware

Root Access, a US maker of electronics for drones and robots, opened its Seb coding agent to the public on 8 May. In a Show HN post, founding engineer Vignesh K, a former TI applications engineer, says Seb reads schematics, datasheets and BOMs, mixes deterministic algorithms with LLM calls and connects to debuggers and logs. We saw no demo.

Nordic launches MCP servers for nRF Connect SDK and nRF Cloud

Nordic Semiconductor released 2 MCP servers that connect coding assistants such as Claude Code to its SDK and cloud. The Nordic MCP server adds documentation search, an nrfutil reference, a UART monitor script and SDK workflow commands. The nRF Cloud server reads fleet data such as logs and coredumps, without write access. The post shows no hardware runs.
